MAY I thank all the people who have kindly put donations in the granite capstan collecting box in the pedestrian precinct in Littlehampton?
The sum raised over the past year, including donations from the collecting boxes in Quality Textiles, Shoe to Boot, David O. Jones Sports and the Arun View, amounted to £201.39.

The Capstan Fund was created to raise funds for local events, and to
that end the Bonfire Society and Littlehampton Carnival will each receive £100.70.

Interestingly, more then eight euros were also donated and when these are exchanged, they will be donated into the capstan for next year.
Lastly, may I thank Mark Butler, of Marks of Respect, for his help in maintaining the capstan.
