Two thousand miles of walking have been completed by a Westergate man on his way around Britain.
Colin Snook has passed the halfway mark of his epic coastal journey by foot.
He is due to set off from the East Dunbartonshire town of Milngavie today towards Drymen at the start of the West Highland Way.
He has just enjoyed two days well-ear
ned rest in Campbeltown.
Mr Snook reached 2,000 miles of the 3,819 he intends to walk on June 15 as he entered the Scottish port of Stranraer.
His solo walk is raising money for the charity, Children Living with Inherited Metabolic Diseases.
This is committed to fighting metabolic diseases through research, awareness and family support. His fundraising his gone past £9,500 towards his target of £50,000.
Mr Snook (71) left Bognor Regis on January 1 and intends to return to the resort on November 30.
Some of his overnight stays are in his tent. Others rely on the generosity of supporters.
His meals are also sometimes bought by people he meets along his lengthy route.
The inspiration for his journey, which fulfils a lifelong dream, was a chance encounter with a teenager with Battens Disease from which she died.
