Local acts mix it with the greats
HEADLINING acts performing on the main stage were Hugh Cornwell, formerly of The Stranglers, Deborah Bonham and Bobby Wellins.
But there were another 25 acts on the stages during some 25½ hours of performances, including local musicians such as Hymaglobin, Golden Boulder, Lauren Halliday, Roger Clayden's Classical Crew, Roxstars and Like A Bob Dylan.
The seafront Rock Gardens hosted 'Rox Fringe' with acoustic performances as well as percussion and interactive workshops and craft stalls.
There was also the chance for members of the audience to join in the karaoke on Sunday. One boy amazed everyone with a repertoire of four songs before he joins the cast of Oliver Twist in London's West End.
The wind and rain caused some Fringe activities, including junior Rox drama workshops, to be moved from the exposed skatepark to the hotel grounds so they could continue.
Hotel manager Jackie Long said Rox had helped raised The Royal Norfolk's profile.
"It's a fantastic event, it's great to see the community together and for the hotel to play a major role within the festival," she said.
"We wrote to all guests who were due to stay while Rox was on and told them about the event.
"We have had a few complaints about the noise but most people have thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment."
