DOZENS of Crawley folk braved the rain at the weekend to support the town's first ever Relay for Life.
Cancer Research UK's Relay for Life kicked off on Saturday in Grattons Park, Pound Hill, where dedicated runners battled the stormy weather and made their way around the track for 24 hours straight.

Organisers released doves to mark the opening of the event at 2pm and spectators were treated to refreshments and many more events throughout the weekend.

Laura Senekal who helped organise the race said: "It was fantastic even with the rain. We even got the firemen who came along on the day to sing karaoke on stage."

For more pictures see this week's Crawley Observer (out Wednesday 27 August).
