PARAMEDICS rushed a teenager to hospital after falling 50 feet from scaffolding in Manor Royal.
An air ambulance helicopter flew to Sussex Manor Business Park, Manor Royal, where the man had sustained serious injuries to his back, hip and wrist.

But the 19-year-old, working for scaffolding firm Mattison Scaffolding, was instead taken to East
Surrey Hospital by 'land' ambulance just after 11am today (Wednesday December 3).

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed the incident.

The spokesman said: "A 19-year-old man was taken to East Surrey Hospital today after falling and injuring wrist, hip and back.

"The man had fallen approximately 50ft. An air ambulance was called but the man was taken to hospital by land ambulance."

Police have said the Government's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed of the incident.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to a man sustaining injuries at a unit on the Sussex Manor Industrial Estate.

"It is anticipated that a joint Sussex Police and HSE investigation will follow."
