FIRE FIGHTERS rushed to a Maidenbower house after pipes burst and flooded a kitchen.
Emergency services received a call from a panicked home-owner battling a 4ft jet of water.

Fire fighters arrived at Atkinson Road, Maidenbower, just before 9am and eventually managed to shut off the torrent.

The woman, who did not wish to be named, told the Observer that most of her kitchen was damaged in the 'flood'.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire Service said: "We were called to a domestic incident of flooding at 8.50am this morning. We found a large quantity of water in the kitchen.

"Main water stop cock isolated and owner assisted in clean up."
