THE HAWTH opened its doors for a Pictorial History of Gatwick Airport exhibition this week.
The exhibition, mounted by Crawley Museum, traces the history of Gatwick from Goat Farm through to its fashionable racecourse and private Flying Club - to its first aerodrome licence granted in 1930.
It also covers how the site was used as an RAF airfield during World War Two before it was officially opened as we know it today by Queen Elizabeth in 1958.
The exhibition will run until August 16 - and the Crawley Museum Society are keen to hear from people who may have information or memories on the airports past. Call the museum on (01293) 539088.
