POLICE have released this e-fit of a man who duped an elderly couple claiming to be a tree surgeon.

The man was part of a group of three men who stole hundreds of pounds from the pensioners.

After working for half an hour two of the men distracted the couple with friendly banter while their accomplice crept inside the house and helped himself to their savings.

The brazen burglars struck between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Wednesday August 13 and cops say the trio were also seen touting for work in Wakehurst Drive and Thatcher Close in Southgate.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Crawley Police on 0845 60 70 999 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
