TRAVELLERS booted off land at Broadfield Stadium have moved in next to Desmond Anderson School.
The Observer understands that one parent called the police after a large Alsatian was spotted 'running wild' in the car park area outside the school.
A police spokesperson said: "The call was that an Alsatian dog was running wild and scaring the children and had then possibly gone for a parent.
"Police were called to have a look and the dog has now been restrained by its owner.
"We went down to make sure no one was harmed and that everyone was alright."
The travellers spent the summer being booted around Crawley by the council before reappearing outside Broadfield stadium on Thursday October 9.
Desmond Anderson headteacher Terry Quinton was unavailable for comment.
