SELSEY Lifeboat Station was the centre of attention as film crews paid a visit to shoot a scene for a remake of Sherlock Holmes, which is being directed by Guy Ritchie.
The Observer understands camera crews were there to film the splash of a lifeboat being launched from the station to be used for a fight scene at the River Thames.

Equipment was loaded into the station, at Kingsway, and camera crews were positione
d on boats and at the bottom of the runway to film the splash.

Excited crowds gathered to see the crews darting to and fro from the station.

Norman Woodland: "This is exciting and good publicity for Selsey. I do a lot of fishing here and I used to work for the lifeboat station."
Sherlock Holmes is a Warner Bros film and is due to be released nationwide on October 31 next year.
