Reasoning and mental agility added up to success for Year 7 and 8 pupils at Great Ballard School.
Kit Parfitt gained a gold certificate, Toby Coombe-Tennant a silver certificate, and Emma McNally and Lucy Bloomfield both received bronze certificates in the Mathematics Challenges organised by United Kingdom Mathematics Trust.
The top 40 per cent of pupils nationwide receive certificates.
Gold is awarded to the top six to seven per cent of all pupils; silver to the next 12 to 13 per cent; and bronze to the next 20 per cent.
