BREAKDANCING, gladiator jousting and a business breakfast kept students busy at Chichester High School for Boys during National Enterprise Week.
During the five-day event Year 11 pupils swapped normal lessons for a day of hip hop dance and beat boxin' recording, filming and marketing.
The interactive workshops encouraged leadership, teamwork, positive contribution and decision- making skil
ls.
Meanwhile, Year 8 students took part in a networking breakfast when city business workers were invited to the school to participate in an enterprise activity to tell students about their jobs.
Businesses including Heart and Soul Healing, Chichester Pain Clinic, Aikido Circle and Game Set and Match attended the early-morning event.
Finally it was the turn of the teachers to take to the stage. Eleven staff members dressed in gladiator costumes 'fought' each other on an inflatable to raise money for Children in Need in front of 400 spectators.
An enterprising media campaign complete with promotion videos and posters built up the anticipation for the event which was eventually won by Team Lynch.
Year 7 student Ben Luxton won an Ipod Nano for predicting the eventual team winners.
Mary Durrant, acting deputy headteacher, said: "National Enterprise Week encourages both staff and students to do things differently and
take risks.
"The week enables students to gain an understanding of the world of work and different career options.
"Our Business and Enterprise status fosters a can-do mindset and is about developing teamwork, leadership, presentation, research, problem solving and communication skills. Everyone had an enjoyable week."
