Chichester Harbour is picture perfect thanks to the winners of a photographic competition.
Picturesque views all captured the essence of the harbour in the competition organised by the Chichester Harbour Conservancy.

The judges – Observer photographer Louise Adams and Bob Barley from Whitby's Imaging Centre – had a tough job with 225 photos entered into the exhibition at the Old Court Room in North Street, Chichester.

But eventually they picked Nick Moore's image of seagulls in the harbour at dusk as the winner.

The judges said: "It was hard to choose as the photos were of such high standard. The mixture of pictures encapsulated the feel of Chichester Harbour.

"The photos we chose as winners were the ones we felt fitted the theme of the competition, people and places in Chichester Harbour area of outstanding natural beauty, and were also the ones we kept being drawn back to."

Winner Nick Moore said he was very proud. He said: "My thanks go to the judges and to the conservancy and Chichester Harbour for being a consistently perfect canvas from which to work."
