A KEEN gardener at a care home in Selsey has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Annie Winifred Glew was the centre of attention at the White Waves care home, Seal Road, where more than 35 friends and family gathered to celebrate the occasion.
Her nephew Brian White said: "The party went very well and she was pleased with her card from the Queen.
"She's quite a character and remembers a lot more than I can remember. She likes to keep active."
Mrs Glew was born in Aldsworth on September 15, 1908. She was a housekeeper and met her husband Jack while working at a house in Bedhampton in Hampshire.
The pair married at St Peter's Church in Selsey and built their own bungalow at Elm Grove in the town. Mr Glew passed away in 1994.
