Vincent fought in the Van Brabant International Open and won the senior under-100kg category and then travelled to the Sakuru Braine International event and took gold, again in the under-100kg category. The tour was organised by Vincent’s BJA Club, Judo Club Osaka, who took a strong team to the two events and came away with a number of medals in the under-15, under-18 and senior age categories. The previous weekend, Vincent had been part of the BJA London and South team in the heavyweight dan grade category of the British Judo Council national teams’ competition in Kettering. Vincent joined up with Sussex over-100kg champion Dan Fowle, from Rising Sun, and John Hisee, from Ernest Bevin, who was fighting in the under-90kg category. The team were edged out by one fight in the final as they took the silver medal.
