Run by South Coast Sports, the programme attracts national funding but it ends this month. And without new financial backing, SCS, a not-for-profit organisation, cannot continue to run without increasing prices substantially. Instead of £3 per head per session, it would have to go up to be closer to £5. SCS’S Ali O’Boyle said: “This goes against the ethos of the project. “South Coast Sports want sport to be accessible to all and therefore affordable for all – especially in this age group who have very little on offer. “We have applied for further funding and await the outcome, which should be known by the end of June.” SCS will run several Active Tots sessions during the summer holidays at Bourne Leisure Centre, Southbourne, as part of their multisports holiday camps. Other sessions will include fencing, street dance, football, basketball, tag rugby, hockey and cricket. If anyone would like to sponsor Active Tots or enquire about sessions, they should email Ali on ali@scscs.co.uk or call her on 07908 848802.
