Danilo Orsi is looking forward to Crawley Town’s play-off game campaign – and he believes both sets of fans are in for a real treat.

Reds face MK Dons in the first of two legs on Monday at a sell-out Broadfield Stadium, with the second leg in Milton Keynes on Thursday (May 9)

This is the club's first appearance in the play-offs and is a remarkable achievement given the pre-season predictions for Scott Lindsey’s men.

One of the many shining lights for Crawley Town this season has been the form of striker orsi, who has netted 21 goals since joining from Grimsby Town in the summer. He can’t wait to get going in the play-offs.

Orsi said: “I think playing a lot of games this year and as a group everyone’s saying that we are going to be in the relegation thing (battle) and that gave us added motivation should we say to really kick on.

“Now we are in this position I don’t think anyone is too critical of us anymore because we’ve proved them all wrong so for us as a group of boys we want to go out and hopefully finish this story on a high.”

A win in the first leg would set up Crawley very well for their trip to MK Dons, something that Orsi is under no illusions about as he said: “The gaffer’s been saying to us that there is no point in getting into the play-offs if you are not going to go on and win them.

“We know how big Monday is because it’s the first game and it could really set up for the second one whether you are behind or in front and put you in a good position going into it.”

The two sides' playing styles have been compared frequently as they are similar in nature as both can produce scintillating football which in turn leaves both sides evenly poised for the two legs, especially considering that both Crawley and MK Dons have recorded wins against each other so far this season.

Speaking on this, Orsi said: “I think we knew from when we played them just after Christmas, I believe it was, what an exciting game of football that was.

“How the two styles match up so I think as far as play-off semi-finals can go, I think the fans are in for a real treat with this one.”

Orsi was also keen to praise the fans for their continued support, along with calling them to help him and his side reach the play-off finals as he said: “I think just get behind us, make an atmosphere, almost intimidate them coming here.

“You talk about it being a smaller stadium compared to MK (Dons) so it’s going to be a sell-out (and) we can really get a fear factor.

“And just enjoy it, enjoy the game and enjoy the occasion.”
