RAF volunteers clear Rustington cottage
RAF volunteers reached for their spades, not the skies, to help clear the garden of a newly acquired cottage in Rustington offering short breaks for service people.
The team of volunteers, from 230 Squadron, stationed at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, spent a day helping to clear the garden of the RAF Benevolent Fund’s new property, Shencot House.
The cottage was purchased by the fund to provide a refuge by the sea for serving members of the RAF in need of an affordable break, and will open at the end of 2011.
